Altered Tickets

Greetings everyone. It's CricutMelody (aka KauaiMelody) and I am so excited to be your CricutFANatics Designer today. In the Spirit of Fall, I have a super easy tutorial for you to learn how to make your own tickets from scratch to alter. They make a great decoration for bags, boxes, cards , and tags. They are also a very quick and fun way to add a little seasonal cheer to your home , be it on the wall, added to a table display, or adorning a store bought/cricut made wreath on your front door. I decided to add these to home decor projects, as you will see in the pictures that follow the tutorial.

So , get ready for an easy peasy craft project-  Altered Tickets!!! They are fun, simple, and super fast to make. You probably have everything you need to create them.

MATERIALS: Paper, hole punch , ruler, pencil, cutter, bone folder and whatever embellishments and decorative materials you would like to use.

MACHINE: Cuttlebug (to emboss metal tickets)

ALTERED TICKET TUTORIAL:

It starts with a strip of paper 1 inch by 10 inches.

Make an indentation every 2 inches with a bone folder or cutter indentation tool. And accordian fold along the edges back and forth along the creases.
.

Now take your hole punch or Crop-A-Dile and make a punch that is a half circle, evenly distributed, on either side of the identation at the top. Doesn't have to be perfect :)

Voila!!! You now have 5 tickets all attached for you to design and alter to your liking.

You can glitter, hand color, ink, stamp, cover with designer papers, add vinyl, felt, ribbon, bling, buttons, border punches, stick pins - you get the idea.  This is where your own personal design sense takes flight, and you can channel your creative mojo and create a little signature  masterpiece.

I would like to share with you, some examples of altered tickets that I made.  They can be simple or elaborate and it is all good.  I even cut some tickets out of  aluminum soda cans. (Why not sandpaper, acetate or ???) I sometimes add ties to these to make them easy to attach when I am using them as home decor.   We get very busy, but still want to craft so we sometimes need a project that is fast and easy but still appealing. This project is just the ticket, pun intended  :)  !!!

INSPIRATION PICS:

  PLACE SETTING

THE GATE

THE WREATH

THE BAG

THE VASE

There are lots of  Fall images to cut out from your Cricut Cartidges and add to your Altered Tickets. I used the Speaking of Fall Cartridge for ideas, and then stamped and made images.  Hope you enjoyed this share today and will be inspired to try these yourself.

You can check out some of my other projects, on Cricut Melody Blog.  If you have any questions, give me a shout out.  Looking forward to designing another project for you in November .
I believe there is going to be a Christmas Altered Ticket Swap  on the Cricut Messageboards, if you would like to give it a try.

Thank you so much for coming to the CricutFANatics Blog and hope you find many inspiring and creative journeys here.

Joyful Crafting Always,
Melody

  6. Hi Sarah, my Reply button is frozen so I will respond here. Your enthusiasm for this project really warms my heart. Because the ticket surface is so small, they craft up in minutes. You will be so surprised how prolific you will become. They are also so inexpensive to make, and can be embellished from your stash. Would love to see what you do with these!!!
